As a boat owner and boat journalist I never compromise on safety at sea. I installed CoastKey® in May 2007, and have used it for three seasons. The system is very convenient and practical, I can move freely on board without worrying about a "telephone chord" that tangles up or gets pulled out by mistake.
When you've learned how the keys work, the CoastKey® works really well. If I should fall over board, the engine will stop immediately. If other people are on board, they can restart the engine even if I'm in the water with the CoastKey® unit around my neck. And that's a good thing, because it is not easy to race against a speeding boat, especially not when wearing wet and heavy clothes.
After testing the system over some time I recommend it for it's advanced functions and security.
CoastKey® is installed in my reportage boat, a Silver Eagle 650 Cabin with Mercruiser diesel 120 hp.
