Coastkey® – wireless safety on board

CoastKey® is a wireless kill switch that gives you the opportunity to move around freely on board. It also has functionalities that will improve the experience on board the boat.

A regular kill cord is attached to the pilot via an elastic cord attached to the boats control unit which, when pulled, shuts the engine down. The CoastKey® works the same way, but with wireless technology. This allows not only for freedom of movement on board, security is also improved. If the pilot should fall over board, the communication between the boat and the pilot is cut off, and the engine will immediately stop.

The engine kill switch has a signal light, which is activated when the communication is cut off. The CoastKey® also acts as an engine immobilizer. This is activated when the ignition is turned off.

START, STOP AND TILT
You can start and stop the engine(s) within a range of 10 to 26 feet (3 to 8 meters) by the push of a button, the same way you remote open or lock your car. This is a practical feature that allows a more flexible use of the boat. The tilt works the same way; just bush the button for downwards or upwards tilt – anywhere on board the boat.

LOCK
The lock is connected to the engines ignition system. If the CoastKey® is lost or misplaced, you will still be able to start or stop the engine by entering a 4 digit pin code. This is a very practical and unique feature, and is found only in the CoastKey® system.

BATTERY AND INSTALLATION
The installation of CoastKey® is easy and fast, and fits most gasoline and diesel engines. The battery in the key unit is also easily replaced. The lifespan of a battery is about three seasons, or 300 engine operating hours.

ANCHOR WINCH
Alternatively, the CoastKey® can also control the anchor winch. This is a welcomed feature on board most boats. Just hoist the anchor to the preferred position, start the engine and ride off. The best part is that this can be done from just about anywhere on board.
