Engine kill switch function

In the event that the pilot of the marine vessel should fall overboard and has CoastKey secured to his body, the engine(s) stops automatically. A signal beacon in front of the key unit will automatically be turned on.

12 seconds after a emergency stop is activated, remaining crew can start the engine(s) directly from the lock unit to rescue the pilot. The button on the lock unit is held down until the engine starts. The engine stops if the button on the lock unit is being pressed again after 3 minutes have passed. If the marine vessel has two engines, then both engines must be individually started.

The engine(s) can be controlled from the key unit when it becomes available. For the engine kill switch function to activate, a restart of the engine(s) must be carried out from the key unit. This is done by switching the ignition off and on from the key unit.
